A Moody Spool to Break the Norm

Oversized Spool with Rolled Back

Completed in parallel with home construction, total build time 8 weeks.
This client wanted to maximize their private master garden and create a space for tranquil relaxation. We designed a semi-raised spool with room for 10-12 people. The rolled back and pillow edges were designed to encourage leaning back and staring up at the stars. Breaking the pool color norm, we played on the home exterior with a moody black plaster and hunter green glass tile. The spool was wrapped in brick and the deck was finished with a porcelain old world tabby.
